Diane's under-the-hood reflections

Thinking about blogging

I’ve been promising myself I would start doing some “blogging” related to the Collection.  I’ve never been big on this idea as I don’t want to have to write on any schedule, but I have managed to write a “reflective journal” as a relational approach to reconciliation.  It came from a dislike of doing performative land acknowledgements.

Chris suggested a blog of sorts and in a recent conversation with Chris Corrigan I was encouraged to write every day.  I will definitely not keep up that pace, but I do need a place where I can reflect on my learnings as the Collection evolves and the emergent opportunities to spread this thinking seem to be growing.

So, I think this is going to be a place where I will reflect on my learnings be it about a specific image (e.g. the lever metaphor isn’t really correct for Places to Intervene) or about my experience developing new metaphors for some important tensions and balances (e.g. go slow to go fast).

As we head into summer, I am getting less busy and have more time to think about the website.  Hopefully this will also lead to a series of reflections about systems thinking.
